Question - What impact has attending Elm Tree had upon your child?

‘My child can now attend an educational setting full time, opposed to the previous 1 hour a day. She does so happily. She feels safe and secure in the setting, which in turn regulates behaviours at home. My child was previously in constant crisis mode. She is now stable and ready to learn.

‘My son  has made friends and he gets treated like a proper little person instead of a naughty boy or a child that is not normal ‘

‘Since starting in September I can see a great improvement to Mackenzie's learning, we are able to read together, he appears more confident to try. His writing skills have improved. His overall confidence has improved. He is able to do things within school - such as go to the pantomime, go to the chill factor and experiences a wider range of activities which all support his self development’.

Question - What are the strengths of Elm Tree School?

‘Staff bond with the children. Creating a safe space for the children to thrive. They understand the needs of my child. The school reacts quickly and positively to behaviours, working out how my child learns individually, and providing the tools for her to progress.’

‘Your staff are amazing!’

‘Understanding my child’s individual needs taking the time to listen to him & understand him well & how best to deal with him & build a relationship with him knowing the best way to help his education around that.’

Question - What positives does Elm Tree offer showing Understanding and Support for pupils and families?

‘All the staff, who are enthusiastic, kind and understanding. From the teaching staff to the office / admin staff to transport staff, all I have encountered have been fabulous and a credit to the school. The school facilities and experiences which children are able to access. Support with developmental health issues have also been addressed sensitively and promptly . I believe the school looks holistically at the children’s needs.’

‘Always there when needed for guidance, very welcoming, will make contact in something good has happened or something not so good has gone on during the day. Very supportive of children. Giving the children chances to do activities that they would not have had the chance to..’

Testimonies from Parents

‘More communication of what learning as my child doesn't tell us much however, we have seen huge improvements in his Maths, English, reading and writing’.

‘I feel there could be more communication such as a weekly newsletter.’

‘Use Class Dojo and possibly add photos of children doing activities or a Facebook site.   Also explaining how lessons are taught in written paperwork feedback so it can be assisted by parents at home if possible. Eg. Some reading or writing or maths exercises to work on....just a little!’
